Ahmad Wali Karzai assassinated, buried, Hamid Karzai's brother killed 2011 07 12

Afghan politician Ahmad Wali Karzai was killed at his home, the bullets entering his head and chest on 2011 07 12. Hamid Karzai's half-brother was the chairman of the Kandahar Provincial Council and received threats earlier.

The Taliban declared that the killer, Karzai's bodyguard, was working for them, but specialists state that a personal offense might have been the motive behind this killing.

Ahmad Wali Karzai was buried on 2011 07 13, the ceremonial tree planted at his grave.
