The Perks of Being a Wallflower: movie review, The Perks of Being a Wallflower 2012
It looks like a usual coming of age dramedy: violence, abuse, and broken hearts. 10 times less entertaining than The Rules of Attraction by Roger Avary. A big plus for the movie is that it was directed by author of the book and script.
What is the use of that ultra-realistic approach at all, if it doesn't heal the sick, and torments those, let's say, healthy? Please, give us parents, who are open to their kids. Please, show us beauties, who are modest. Please, find us freshmen, who can hit bullies in the face without blacking out. And save us from depressing disgust, we can't escape from it in our everyday life.
The movie may be watched for the sake of young actors, and the freshness they bring in. The movie may be watched for the sake of underlying optimism, still present despite the things that cannot be undone.
And yet, a born artist would rather drop this one out and would get the amusing Wes Andersons's gift named Moonrise Kingdom, which also came out this year.

ALEX CROSS review: good action, bad thriller. Tyler Perry, Matthew Fox, Jean Reno
ALEX CROSS, a plain non-stop action movie, which is better to be watched in cinema was released on BluRay in December 2012.
The flick, directed by a blockbuster master is not an intelligent thriller. The script is not extraordinary at all, and the ending is predictable. So, the movie is rather mediocre.
Cast is glaring with names: emotional Tyler Perry, the evil genius Matthew Fox and growing corpulent Jean Reno. Unfortunately, the stars do not save picture from its simplicity, though make it at least watchable.
Matthew Fox as Picasso
Tyler Perry as Dr. Alex Cross
Jean Reno as Leon Mercier
